Family Sponsorship

Sponsoring your family to become permanent residents of Canada is possible under certain circumstances, and it's essential to understand the eligibility criteria and requirements before beginning the process.

Here is a general outline of how to sponsor your family to become permanent residents of Canada:

1. Check Your Eligibility: Ensure that you meet the eligibility criteria to sponsor a family member to Canada. Generally, you must be a over 18 and a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident of Canada, or a registered Indian under the Canadian Indian Act.

2, Determine which family members you can sponsor: Eligible family members include your spouse or common-law partner, dependent children, parents, and grandparents. Other relatives may also be eligible under very specific circumstances.

3. Meet Financial Requirements: As a sponsor, you must demonstrate that you can financially support the family members you intend to sponsor. This includes meeting minimum income requirements (for certain family members) to ensure that sponsored persons don't need social assistance upon arrival in Canada.

4. Submit the Application: Complete the sponsorship application to IRCC, for both the application to sponsor and the family member applying for permanent residence.
