Points for Education in the Express Entry pool
Of the 3 Express Entry programs, the Federal Skilled Worker Program is the only one for which a specific level of education is required; applicants must have at least completed high school. However, once an applicant has achieved the necessary minimum requirements for a program, their level of education may enable them to gain additional points in the Express Entry pool, thus boosting their score. The higher the level of education, the more points are awarded.

The table below shows the number of points which are awarded for different levels of education. Note that this differs depending on whether the applicant is applying with or without a spouse.

In addition to points for foreign education, additional CRS points can be gained by having a post-secondary education in Canada. 15 additional points are awarded to candidates who have a credential of one or two years, and 30 additional points for those who have a credential of three years or longer.
